Vivian Griggs

Vivian spent many years with Bruce after he retired, traveling in their Air-Stream trailer around the US and Canada, visiting friends and new places. She had a passion for genealogy, and some of their travels were to places to find names, dates, and information about her family history.

Vivian is survived by her only brother, Robert Begemann of Canby, OR, and her three sons:  Dale T. Griggs, and wife, Maura of (Bellingham, WA); Gary B. Griggs, and wife, Suzanne of (Richland WA); and Daniel L. Griggs, and wife, Mary of (Kettle Falls, WA).  She is remembered as a loving grandmother of Travis, Gordon, Nik, Jonathan, Joshua, Maria, Eva, Ruth and Julia.  Vivian also has 18 great-grandchildren.

With her passing at age 92 on October 4, 2015, her family wishes to thank her many caregivers over the past several years.  Family and friends may wish to make a donation in her name to Hospice or an Alzheimer’s research foundation.

  • I had the privilege of meting Vivian at Everyday Women’s Fellowship Bible Study. Linda was kind enough to bring her there which gave us the ability to spend a couple of years with her studying 5 or 6 different books of the bible. She was, and always be, a bright spot in my memory. Her desire was to be “happy” and make others happy as well. She succeeded very well. She would occasionally impart words of wisdom to those of us younger than she and what she had to say was always right on and helpful. We will miss her in this world but very much look forward to seeing her again in Heaven. Until then, she will be smiling down on her family, whom she loved dearly, and all of her friends. I will enjoy the memories of her until we meet again.
