W. Robert (Bob) Wykoff was born on August 13, 1920 in Fresno, CA to Harold W. and Mamie L. (Sahm) Wykoff - the older of two sons. He died of cancer at home surrounded by his family on October 24, 2015. 

When he was in elementary school, the family moved to Berkeley. He attended the University of California in Berkeley, graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering.  He did graduate work in chemical engineering at Ohio State University, and in Nuclear Engineering at the University of New Mexico.

He worked at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, CT, at Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, OH, at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, and Westinghouse Hanford Co, in Richland, WA where he retired in 1984. 

As a sophomore at Berkeley he met and fell in love with Leonora Craig.  They were married on November 20, 1942 (her birthday) in the chapel at Trinity College, Hartford CT. They spent the next 73 years raising a family and enjoying life together.

In Los Alamos, Bob and Lee were members of the United Church of Los Alamos, where Bob was Sunday School Superintendent, Treasurer, an Elder and Chair of the Church Council. Bob and Lee enjoyed cooking at their church camp in Colorado for many years. In Richland, Bob and Lee were members of Central United Protestant Church for many years before joining Shalom United Church of Christ.

After Bob retired, he and Lee enjoyed many cruises, traveled to many parts of the world and spent part of every year in Maui.

For many years, Lee and Bob volunteered together at Kadlec Medical Center.  He contributed over 7,000 hours serving as an Escort and working the Information Desk in the South Lobby.

He is survived by his wife Lee, their four children Karen Wicks (Doug) of Great Falls, MT; Beverly Wykoff of Montrose, CA; William Wykoff (Joan) of Clarkston, WA and Richard Wykoff (Margo) of Hillsboro, OR; daughter-in-law, Angela Wykoff of Hillsboro, OR, and four grandchildren, Jeff Wykoff (Marsha), Jason, Lorien (Will Guest) and Nick Wykoff; and three great grandchildren, Keith, Trinity and Joshua Wykoff.  He was predeceased by his parents, and his younger brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Eileene Wykoff of Quincy, CA.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Hospice at the Chaplaincy for the care they provided Bob during his final illness.  

Arrangements for a service will be made at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to The Chaplaincy in the Tri-Cities, Shalom United Church of Christ, or the Lahaina United Methodist Church, in Lahaina, HI.
