Loretta Christine Kealsing
Loretta married Thomas A. Keasling in 1947 and they raised three children in Whittier, California and later in Las Vegas, Nevada. They moved to Richland in 1971 and she was a secretary at Central United Protestant Church for many years. She was a devoted member of church choirs her entire life and a member of the Central United Protestant Chancel Choir since moving to Richland. She was a member of Richland P.E.O. Chapter DF and the current President of the Brookdale Richland Resident Council. Loretta was a longtime volunteer and past President of the Kadlec Hospital Volunteer Service where she received a 3000+ hour service award.
Loretta and Tom were members of the Richland Yacht Club since 1977, where she held several positions as a Board Officer. She also loved raising miniature roses and received several awards including one for 'Best of Show.'
Loretta is survived by her three children: Christine and her husband Walter Blendermann of Sequim, WA, Rosemary Keasling and Keith Keasling both of Richland; granddaughter, Jerilyn and her husband Erik Shackelford and their daughter, Alexa of Oregon City, OR, and her twin sister, Lorraine Mefford.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2 pm at Central United Protestant Church, 1124 Stevens Dr., Richland.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Salvation Army Mid-Columbia, 1219 Thayer Dr., Richland WA 99354.
Loretta and I were in the CUP choir for many years, often seated next to each other. She was a dear, dear person and will be greatly missed. I will be out of town for the memorial service, which I really regret. To all her family….my sincerest sympathies and you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.
My husband and I would like to express our sincere sympathy to the family and friends of your beloved Loretta. Although we never had the opportunity to meet Loretta, personally, we wanted to share with you comfort from Gods word found in John 5:28,29. Here Jesus showed us a wonderful example of the resurrection when he resurrected Lazarus here on earth, back to the arms of those he loved. (John 11) Remember also that our Heavenly Father expresses his loving compassion for all of us when someone we love dies. (Psalm 34:18) Be sure to share your memories with those who surround you, for the memories shared are the ones most truly cherished, may they bring you a sense of peace and joy in your hearts as you begin to heal. Take care of yourselves and each other during this very difficult time.
