Frank Adam Sartain Sr. (PAPA) 91 went to spend eternity with his Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, December 21, 2015 at his home in Kennewick, Washington. He was born March 15, 1924 to Daniel and Mary Sartain in Peterson, Alabama. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served proudly for 11 yrs. The ships that he served on included the U.S.S. Northhampton, U.S.S Columbia, and the U.S.S Hornet.  Papa served in all 17 major engagements in the South Pacific. He was also a barber on the ships.  He was stationed at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii where he later met his beautiful wife Doris Nobuko Kishimoto. They lived in Hawaii for several years then moved to Alabama for a year before moving to the Tri-Cities in 1952, where they settled and raised their family. He attended Carpenters Apprentice School through local 1849 and was a Carpenter until his retirement. He was a loyal member of his local Union Hall for over 65 years.

Papa is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Sartain; his parents and 11 siblings.

He is survived by his son, Frank Jr. (Kathy), and daughter, Lovevainey (Viney) Chavez; 5 grandchildren: Melissa Denbow (John), Andre’ Chavez (Rosabel), Shana Chavez (Carlos), Lance Sartain (Casey), and Carlo Chavez (Jamie); he is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren: Rachel, Bryanna, Andrew, Lane, Ty, Cheyenne, Bella, Jewel, Ellie, Emma, Tori, Carson, and Tanner and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Events at Sunset, 915 Bypass Highway, Richland, Washington. Graveside services will be held January 2, 2016 at 11:00 am at Sunset Gardens Richland. Memorial service will be held January 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Word of Faith Center, located at 1350 S. Rainier St. Kennewick, Washington. Food reception immediately following the service.
