Maria J. Wray
Maria Joy Wray was born February 26, 1975 and passed away on December 9th 2015. Maria leaves behind husband, Jeff; son, Kyle; her, parents, Jon and Linda; father-in-law, Richard; sister and brother: Snow and Kory; nephews and nieces: Drew, Cash, Kyncade, Ilaura, Shae, and Lilly and numerous other friends, family, and colleagues.
Maria had several jobs, many of them focused on serving people. Early in Maria’s life, she worked with several doctors. On Sep 9th, 1995 Maria married her partner in life Jeff Wray. In 1996, Maria’s priorities changed having given birth to her son. Over the next couple of decades, in addition to her responsibilities as mother and wife, Maria also added babysitter to several different families and once or twice serving as an emergency foster parent to several children in need. Maria attempted Columbia Basin College where she studied Early Childhood Education and accounting before having to leave for health reasons. Maria was an avid reader, scrapbooker, and enjoyed spending time with family.
At Maria’s request, a simple service will be held at the LDS chapel on Paradise in West Richland on December 19th at 1:00 PM.
May her soul rest in the internal peace
We never got to know one another but every time our eyes met at school she always had a beautiful smile on her face which I have never forgotten. Nor will I. Thank you for showing such a beautiful soul, Maria. You will be missed. My condolences to the family. Sending love and light their way.

I admire you for your strength and gentility. You were strong in the face of so many things that would tear others down. You were gentle with all; greeting everyone with a smile or hug.
My favorite memory of you involves Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I remember you having a large collection of them as a child and being so very generous in letting your cousins play with them. You never lost that quality.
I am so very grateful to have had you for a cousin. You were/are a shining member of our family.

I met Maria in elementary school. I believe it was in 4th grade. We were partnered up for some sort of project. She was only a day or 2 new to Lewis & Clark at the time. Quiet, shy, and no one knew her. I found her to be very sweet, nice, and it seemed that everything made her giggle, laugh, and smile…. and even though I didn’t always understand why, it was infectious! She was a sweet person and to have known her, even though, it was over 30 years ago, I was a blessed to have her touch my life.
May you rest in peace, Maria. And may your family find strength in beautiful memories.

I want to thank you for 20 years of marriage. While we have had our ups and downs, if I were given the same choice about our relationship, (even knowing what I know now) I don’t think I would do anything different. You were the light of my life and will definitely be missed.

Game nights at Eric and Kelly’s were always so much fun with Maria. Chatting about our random food allergies and commiserating in the trials they brought. She finally convinced me that not ALL daschunds are mean. I am so thankful that I got to know Maria and experience her sweetness and loving nature.
