Mary Slabaugh 

Mary Slabaugh passed peacefully on Saturday, January 2^nd and is now celebrating with our heavenly father.  Mary was born August 31, 1930 in Albemarle County, Virginia.  Mary was living at the Brookdale Richland assisted living community at the time of her death.

Mary loved her family and particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.  Mary and her husband, Ervin, retired and spent many wonderful years traveling and spending time with their family all over the country.  When at home, she loved to work in the yard and kept a weed-free vegetable and flower garden. 

She worked hard to support her family.  Her final job at the time of retirement was working at Exxon/Seimens in the fuel pellet production area.  Obtaining this job was quite an accomplishment for Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ervin, and her 4 sisters, Roberta, Margaret, Doris, and Naomi. 

She is survived by her 3 children, Joe Cox, Sue Finch, and Ed Smith and 3 stepchildren, Gary Slabaugh, Mike Slabaugh, and Doris Braun, and 12 wonderful grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  Mary will be greatly missed by her family. 

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at West Side Church on Tuesday, January 12^th at 11:00 a.m.  A viewing will be held at Einan’s Sunset Event Center on Monday, January 11^th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. 

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at the Brookdale Richland community for all of their support and care for Mary.
