Betty Jane (Clark) Bell, 88, passed away March 20^th in Kennewick.

She was born on March 10, 1928 in Los Angeles, California to Grant O. Clark and Madge F. (Lacky) Clark.  She was the youngest of 4 children, Charlotte (Wagner), Grant (Sonny) and Jay.  She grew up in Electric City, Washington where most of her family worked on the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam and later in Spokane where she attended high school.  She graduated from Central Valley High School in Spokane and shortly thereafter married George Tortorelli.  They lived in Spokane, had two children, Georgia and Mark.  The family moved to the Tri-Cities in the early 1960’s. Betty worked for the telephone company in Spokane and the Tri-Cities.  In 1966 Betty met and married William Bell, they had one son, William Bell IV.  After her divorce Betty worked for the Kennewick Chamber of Commerce and later worked for Food Development Corporation.  She traveled in Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East; she loved her job and the extensive travel it afforded her.  She retired in her early 70’s and moved back to the Tri-Cities where she remained until her death. 

Betty is preceded in death by all of her siblings and one grandson, Richard Abken. 

She is survived by her children: Georgia Stephens (Greg); Mark Tortorelli (Sue) and William Bell IV; her grandchildren: Shannon Rowland (Gary), Sheila Meredith (Michael), Sherry Derosier, Richard Abken (Dana), Carly Tortorelli, and Dean Tortorelli; her great-grandchildren: Michael Abken (Natalie), Alexis Barthman (Kevin),  Joshua Abken, Seth Meredith, Elizabeth Desrosier, and Sophia Desrosier; great-great grandchildren: Alyssa Derryberry,  Isaac Barthman;  nieces, Kelly and Kasey Walker, Connie Clark; nephews, Kim (Debbie) Clark and Ben Walker.
