Carol Ann Immerfall Romsos

Carol Ann Immerfall Romsos, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died in Richland, Washington on March 9, 2016, at the age of 81 years.  She dealt with her diagnosis of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) with acceptance and grace, and had a strong faith in God. 

She was born in Sumner, Wisconsin on August 2, 1934 to Irene Belle (Taft) and Adam Albert Immerfall.  She was baptized in the German Lutheran Church and later attended the Methodist church in Canton, Wisconsin.  She had a happy childhood growing up on the family farm, and graduated from Cameron High School in 1953.  After graduation, she worked at North American Life in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She then moved to Richland, Washington, where she wed her high school sweetheart, Wally Romsos, on May 27th, 1955 at Richland Lutheran Church. She remained a lifelong member of RLC.  She then worked at General Electric as a key punch operator, later transferring into Graphics Services for Boeing, working as an illustrator and manager until retiring in 1994.

Carol was a long time member of Allied Arts Association in Richland, as well as a member of the Eastern Washington Watercolor Society.  She had an avid interest in watercolor painting and attended and taught numerous workshops.  She believed in setting aside time for painting each day.  She also enjoyed several volunteer opportunities at her church.  She had a lifelong interest in all flora and fauna--all of nature, and she spent many happy hours gardening and decorating her home.  She also loved relaxing at the family cabin on the South Fork of the Walla Walla River. 

Carol is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wallace (Wally) Romsos, daughter Sheryl Senyk, son-in-law Steve Senyk, and granddaughters Kristen and Erika Senyk.  She is also survived by her brothers Ron (Jane) Immerfall, and William (Lois) Immerfall, sisters Nancy (Michael) Krantz and Linda Field, sister-in-law Marie (Robert) Bennett and brother-in-laws Robert (Jean) Romsos and Don (Claudia) Romsos, as well as nieces, nephews, and many good friends.  Preceded in death by her son, Michael Romsos, as well as her parents, Irene (Taft) and Adam Immerfall, and brother-in-law, Ken Field.

Carol was loved by many and will be greatly missed.  A special thank you to the caring staff at Richland Rehabilitation Center.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 16th at 3:00pm, at Richland Lutheran Church, 901 Van Giesen St., Richland, WA  99354.
