Shirley Joahn Nacke

Shirley Joahn Nacke, age 81, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016. She was born to the late William L. Worthy and Francis Worthy/Turney on February 26, 1935.

Shirley graduated from Pasco, High School. She married the love of her life James Edward Nacke and they made their home in Richland, WA. Shirley worked for HAPO Federal Credit Union in the early years of their marriage. She took a job Battelle Northwest in the Accounting Department and retired to travel with her husband. She was an active member of the traveling group The Rambling Rovers and donated many hours working at the gift shop for Christ the King Catholic Church; she was also an active member of the YLI group at church.

Shirley and Jim loved entertaining their son, James R. Nacke and his wife, Janice, along with their five grandchildren. Vacations at the Oregon Coast were among many of their treasured memories together.

Shirley is survived by her brothers, Bill Worthy (Goldie), Vernon Turney (Diane) and sisters, Willette Bolger, Mary Lou Bjork, and Myrna Frizzell (Gary). She leaves behind her son and his wife, James R. Nacke and Janice Nacke and five grandchildren, James A. Nacke, Jennifer Bressert (Mathew), Jacqueline Ives (Lucas), Janelle Norman (Andrew), and Joanie Deutsch (Justin). She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren, Angelina, Cierra, Jade, Scarlett, Daemian, Vanessa, Jessica, and Makaila whom she loved dearly. Shirley leaves behind many nieces and nephews and loving dear relatives and friends.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Nacke, William Worthy (father), Francis Worthy/Turney (mother), Charlette Worthy (sister) and Jeri Tadlock (sister).

The family wished to thank all of Shirley’s friends, who added so much joy to her life. Donations in her memory may be made to Christ the King Church in lieu of flowers.

There will be a Memorial Mass held at Christ the King Catholic Church on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00am, followed by a Committal Service at Sunset Gardens in Richland at 12:30pm.
