Frances Opal Heaton, daughter of Avery M. and Sadie (Yocum) Beadles was born July 24, 1919 at Lewistown, (Fulton County) Illinois. She passed away, November 29, 2016 of natural causes, in Lacey (Thurston County) Washington.

Frances graduated from Felkel grade school and Lewistown High School with class of 1938. She Moved to Richland Washington in 1946 with family, to Kennewick in 1953 and to Walla Walla 1977.

She married Charles T. Heaton on November 2, 1963 and worked for General Electric Co. at Hanford Atomic Works for 25 years. Over the years, Opal’s hobbies have included ceramics, stencil printing, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint embroidery, and sewing. For many years she enjoyed making her own clothes and clothes for friends and relatives. Opal was a great cook and enjoyed preparing food for large family events.

Opal was preceded in death by, her parents; infant brother, Paul Beadles; husband, Charles T. Heaton and his three sons, Victor, James, Charles C. and his daughter, Judy Harmon.

She is survived by her son, Don Edwards and wife Rita; her sister, Ruby Bishop; her husband’s sons, Bill, and Brad, and his daughters, Wilda Givens, and Linda Gilmore along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her pet turtle, Baby Girl. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, at Events at Sunset in Richland at 11:00am followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00pm. The Graveside Service will follow at Sunset Gardens in Richland at 12:30pm.
