Nathan Alan Butterfield "Butters" age 29 entered into rest on November 26th, 2016. He was born on November 13, 1987 to Chantilla S. Mortimore and Todd A. Butterfield in the Naval Hospital in Oakland, CA. Nathan graduated from Richland High School, Richland WA.

Nathan loved his family, friends and brothers and sisters he made in the Army. Nathan was a son, brother, boyfriend, mentor, friend, soldier, colleague and confidant. He put everyone before himself and always had a contagious smile. He loved the outdoors and sports, especially snowboarding and best of all he loved a good bon fire.

He enlisted with the Army in 2009 and Toured Afghanistan in 2012. He was proud of his growth in the Army and always strived to be the best he could be, he later graduated and became a member of the 82nd Airborne division. It was a happy day when his family heard that he was coming home from deployment. He later enrolled in CBC using his GI Bill to further his education in business. He worked in the construction field then later joined the Army Reserves. He recently joined the Carpenter's Union and was enjoying the new field of work.

He recently made a home purchase and was so proud of seeing his hard work pay off.

Nathan is survived by his Mother, Chantilla Mortimore, his brother Spencer L. Butterfield, Fiancé Debbie and his nephews Darian and Braylon, father Todd A. Butterfield, and step father Louis Sykes. He is survived by his Grandparents Dennis D. Mortimore, Gloria L. Schultz, Cheryl Butterfield, and sisters Tiffany Torres(Jesse) and Amy Hill(Tim). His Nephews and Nieces Kennedy, Andrew, Jasmine, Lillian, Serenity, Elizabeth. He is also survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Ed Butterfield, and Grandmother Sandra Mortimore.

Nathan will be loved and missed deeply but never forgotten.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm with a public viewing from 11am-1:30pm on Sunday December 4th  2016 Events at Sunset, located at 915 Bypass Highway Richland WA 99352. A flower donation will be set up with Shelby’s Floral of Kennewick.
