Bruce Allen Hemming

Passed away January 27, 2017 with his family by his side in Richland, WA.  Born February 13, 1956 in Seattle, WA to his parents Jack and Ann Hemming.

Bruce lived in Prosser for over 25 years. Shortly after moving, Bruce, Janeel and the girls soon became members of First Presbyterian Church of Prosser. Bruce also became a volunteer of Benton County Fire District #3. Never far from his pager, Bruce loved the adventure and brotherhood of being part of the fire department. Bruce spent the last three years of his life under the attentive care and compassion of the staff at the Life Care Center of Richland.

Bruce was loved by all who knew him. His sincere smile and joking nature drew out the best in those around him. He always had a nickname for those he loved.

He loved to be outdoors; hiking, camping, fishing and looking for punky wood. He was always tinkering in his garage, probably to get out of a house full of the girls he loved most!

Bruce is survived by his loving wife Janeel, and his three daughters Stacey (Tyson) Thomson, Shelly (Mike) Smith, and Kendra (Ryan) Wood.  He will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren, Micah, Hallie, Pyper Thomson; Madison and Rylee Smith; and Brady and Carson Wood.  He is also survived by his four siblings - brother Ron and three younger sisters Gail, Robin, and Deb.  He was loved and will be missed by many extended family members, numerous in-laws, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Ann Hemming and his father-in-law Aldrich DeVries.

A Memorial Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday at 1:00 PM February 4, 2017 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 912 Yakima Avenue, Prosser, WA 99350 (509) 786-2417
