Florence “Marie” Delsing, 102, of Richland, passed away on March 12, 2017 at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. She was born July 30^th, 1914, in McLean County Kentucky, moved to Chicago in the early 1930’s and came to Richland in 1951.

She was a homemaker active in Democratic Party politics until the late 60’s when she became a longtime member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Over the years, she worked at Safeway, Christ the King school cafeteria, and ran a nursing home kitchen. At 72, awarded a scholarship, she studied carpentry and astonishingly worked with a crew building houses.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles Delsing and daughter Marie “Diane” Weinburg. She is survived by her children, Beverly Johnston, Judith Delsing, Terry Delsing; her grandchildren, Steven Weinburg (Shirley), Cindy Fish (Mike), Dee Dee Thorn, Joseph Wolbert, Vicki Arnold, Lorena Swift, Paul Ratsch, John Ratsch, Kelly Ratsch (Michelle), Joel Ratsch, Elizabeth Hunnicutt along with 25 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

With the passing of our Matriarch Marie, who faced adversity with faith in the Heavenly Father, we are reminded that one must be patient and trust in the Lord’s timing as she always did. Marie was a mother, a father, a Grandparent, a friend, a sounding board, a listener, and a faithful follower in Christ.
