Harlond “Ted” Cluck, Jr. died with his family by his side, April 25,
2017, at his home after a short battle with cancer.

Ted is survived by his wife of 60 years.  Ted has four wonderful children:  Sue Deibert (Trace), Shirley Adelmund (Mike),
Norm Cluck (Dotty), and Sharon Phillips (Mark).   He has 16 grandchildren, 11
great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a
son-in-law.  He is survived by his two
sisters.

Ted was born in Kansas City, MO on December 3, 1934, to Harlond (Ted)
Cluck Sr. and Hazel Cluck.  They moved to
Denver when Ted was a baby.  In 1945, the
family moved to Richland where Ted graduated from Columbia (Richland) High
School in 1953.  In November 1956, Ted
married the love of his life Betty Shane.
They lived in Pasadena, CA, Covington, WA, and Vancouver, WA before
moving back to Richland in 1975.

Ted retired from Westinghouse Hanford in 1993 after 18 years of
service, where he worked as a Quality Control Inspector, and Material
Coordinator.  Ted and his wife enjoyed
traveling around after retirement before returning back to Richland.

Ted was a very loyal and loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He always put his family first.  His grandchildren provided such joy to
him.  He was sought out by so many people
for his wisdom and strength.  He always
provided such a calming atmosphere wherever he was.  He had strong hands and a warm heart.  He was a gentleman and providing for his wife
and family were a priority for him.  He
loved to watch sports, especially basketball, which he played as a
teenager.  He also loved working around
in his yard and working on his vehicles.

Visitation with the Funeral Service will be held tomorrow, Friday,
April 28, 2017 at Events at Sunset, 915 ByPass Hwy in Richland. Viewing will
start at 3:00pm followed by the funeral service at 4:00pm.

  • My condolances to the family, I met Ted just walking by and we would chat about the weather or his beautiful yard. He was so proud of his yard and kept it looking so nice.I will miss our short little chats. God Speed Ted till we meet again. A neighbor.
