Clarene Colvard
Clarene Colvard of Kennewick succumbed to a long illness on May 5, 2017. She was born in Rigby, Idaho to Melvin and Melva Jones on September 4, 1933. She married Keith L. Berrett, also from Rigby in 1951. They moved to Richland, in 1963. Clarene married James Colvard of Peshastin, WA in 1972. They moved around the country and finally settled back in Richlad, Washington in 1975. Clarene is survived by her three sons: Keith (Christy) Berrett of Richland, Michael (Lori) Berrett of Rigby, ID, Mark (Debra) Berrett of Suisan City, CA; seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Gardens in Richland, on Wednesday, May 10th at 3:30 p.m.
Thank you for sharing the news. The picture is lovely. She has been a dear friend for many years. I have special memories of visiting her and the interest we shared in families. One thing that comes to mind is the day she was raking pine needles. Clarene said Jim planted pine trees when we moved here because he did not want to rake up leaves, “Just wait until I tell him about all the pine needles” – Now she can tell him. She so enjoyed her extended family and the cousins she keep in contact with as well as her own boys and families.
Clarene was a fun older cousin to me. She was very glamorous. I was glad to get hand-me-down clothes from Clarene and Shirley. She was very thoughtful of my mother Gladys. She was the oldest of the Larsen cousins and always made an effort to come to the Cousins Reunion. We will miss her.
