Eric Matthew Powell, 31 of Kennewick, WA passed away June 15, 2017. He was born on March 16, 1986 in Richland, WA.
Eric spent the years from childhood to early adulthood at the family home in Kennewick, WA. He attended local schools, graduating from Liberty Christian High School in 2004. He attended Carol College in, Helena, Montana and University of Nevada (UNR), Reno, NV. He graduated from UNR in 2011 with high honors then attended Touro University in Las Vegas, NV.
Eric enjoyed fishing on the Columbia River with his father, brother and friends. He loved watching sports on TV, and enjoyed a game or two of golf. He and his brothers always challenged each other on miniature golf with certain “bets”. This spring he loved gardening, always looking to see what he could buy as far as herbs and spices. He loved a good bar-b-que, using his special herbs and spice combinations. Bicycling became a hobby. He enjoyed the freedom of going on an 80 mile ride on a bike. Always with laughter when he finished.
He is survived by his parents Myron and Chris Powell, Kennewick, WA; sister, Sarah Powell, Reno, NV; brothers, Ryan Powell, Richland, WA, and Jesse Powell, Lacey, WA; grandmother, Ellen Bohrn, Ely, NV, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandfather, Orville Bohrn, grandfather, Marvin Powell and his grandmother, Edith Powell.
The Funeral Service for Eric will start at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2017, Events at Sunset, 915 ByPass Hwy in Richland, WA
