Robert Pischel

Robert Wallace Pischel, age 91, of Pasco, WA went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2018.

He is reunited with the love of his life Eva Ernestine Pischel, who passed away in 2011, and he is strolling Heaven on those long strong legs. As the Bible promises, dad has a renewed body. That is our comfort.

Our dad, a Great Man among men, a Legend, a Tri-City Icon, a Lover of all people and God, a Provider, Encourager and mostly a Friend to all!

His home on the Columbia River hosted Young Life, Campus Crusade for Christ, Weddings, Hydroplane Parties, Bible Studies, Huge Family gatherings,  and as many meals as there are grains of sand on the shores.

Together, Bob and Ernie (Eva Ernestine) raised 5 children to know and love the Lord. What was important to dad was people.  Providing hours of fun and activities around his boating adventures, pool table, Ping-Pong, horses, snow skiing, dune bugging, Honda 90, tennis and the like. He lived life large and humble.

Even though he built and owned the nation’s 3rd largest yearbook publishing company (Pischel Yearbooks), he started up banks, built nursing homes, hardware stores and the Bluewood Ski Resort, his family always knew that they were his top priority.

He invested in his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren much more than all of his worldly endeavors. His door, his yard, his dock and most importantly his heart, was always open to everyone. His house at Riverhaven was a home that said “Welcome, Come in”.

He left a meteor sized hole in all of our hearts and we will spend the rest of our lives filling that hole up in service to others, to carry on his life’s missions. He loved because Jesus first loved him.

Bob is survived by his 5 children and their families; Robin Pischel Lark (husband Geoff), Reece, Piper (Ron) Barton , Scoter Pischel (wife Angie) and Tyson Pischel (wife Linda); his ten grandchildren and also his fifteen great-grandchildren. Bob is also survived by his dearly beloved brother, William (Bill) Pischel; many nieces and nephews and his precious friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Phyllis Kaye Means.

We will come together to Celebrate Bob’s Life on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 11:00am at Southills Church, 3700 West 27th in Kennewick, WA.

  • So very sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob leaves a spot in my heart and great memories. I Was so thankful of all the time he shared with Jim. Now he is enjoying Jim’s company again. After Jim’s passing I could count on Bob for encouragement and His prayers for my family. I was so thankful Bob opened His home to our small group. Praise God Bob is with the Father and His lovely wife we will all see him again.
May God give each of you peace and comfort.
