Eva Lucille Oswalt

Eva Lucille Oswalt, 101, of Richland, died peacefully in her sleep on October 6, 2018 at the Squires Residence, in Kennewick, Washington.

Eva was born in Graysville, Indiana on July 14, 1917, the daughter of Loyal and Ella Taylor.  She was one of six children raised during the great depression.  She graduated from Sullivan High School (1935) in Sullivan, Indiana and initially went to work for Ma Bell as a telephone operator.

Eva married Gerald L. Parvis in 1942 and was widowed in 1954 after 12 years of marriage.  She was working as a secretary for Dupont in Indiana at the time of Gerald’s death.

Eva relocated/transferred to Richland, Washington after Gerald’s death, to again work for Dupont at the Hanford site, eventually retiring in 1979 after 24 years of service with Dupont, General Electric, and United Nuclear contractors.

She married Reinold B. Brown in 1958 and was widowed a second time in 1980.  Finally, Eva married Harry (Bud) Oswalt in 1983 and was widowed for the third and last time in 2006.

Eva was a dedicated daughter to her parents and used her annual vacations traveling with her children and sister Freda back to Indiana to visit family members.  She enjoyed dancing, shopping, traveling, and occasional casino gambling in retirement as part of the “Rambling Rovers “group outings.  In her later years, as her mobility was diminished, Eva used her mind to travel by becoming a voracious reader of books and novels.

Eva is survived by sister Peggy Boyd of Wichita Falls, Texas, daughter Barbara Donnell, Richland, Washington, son James Parvis (Patsy), Kennewick, Washington, granddaughter Stephanie Fisher (David), Pasco, Washington, grandsons Benjamin Parvis (Sarah), Tukwila, Washington, and Mark Donnell, Bend, Oregon, nephews Kenny, Bobby, and Johnny Boyd, Wichita Falls, Texas, great grandson Dylan Donnell, Philomath, Oregon, and great granddaughters Simone/Sophia Fisher, Pasco, Washington.

She was preceded in death by parents, Loyal and Ella, husbands Gerald, Reinold, and Bud, brothers John and Charles, sisters Lenora and Freda, and grandson Mike Donnell.

Private family graveside internment service, per Eva’s wishes, will take place on October   19, 2018 at Sunset Gardens, Richland, Washington.
