Rita Goolsby

Rita Beaty Goolsby was welcomed into the kingdom of heaven November 24, 2018.  Her devotion to her family and her faith in God supported her through life and brought peace to her as she left her life here on earth.

Rita Lee Beaty was born to Vera (Houston) and Ralph Beaty, March 12th, 1936 in Hope, Arkansas.  Rita was immersed in a loving Christian family upbringing.  She learned to play the piano at an early age.  She graduated from Siloam Springs High School in 1954 and went on attain a degree in business from the University of Arkansas.  Rita began working after college in Tulsa, OK; where she met her lifelong partner of 57 years, Oscar Kerby (O.K.) Goolsby.

On May 20, 1961 she married Oscar Kerby Goolsby in Siloam Springs, Arkansas in the First Baptist Church.

Rita found a career in real-estate; she loved working with people and helping find the right home for her clients.  Her passion for finding the right home led her to help design and build O.K. and Rita’s dream home on the Columbia River in Richland.  Rita was an avid painter and enjoyed taking classes in oil painting.  Rita was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and family.  Rita volunteered as a Girl Scout leader for many years, sewed countless Halloween costumes, baked hundreds of birthday cakes, volunteered at school for her children and grandchildren, volunteered on Sunday for the nursery at church, was active at the church with “visiting-Visitors”, she was actively involved on several committees at CUP church, she was an avid bowler, loved camping with her family in the travel trailer and always made family dinners a priority.  Rita was the perfect combination of professional women, and devoted homemaker.

She was an amazing role model for all of her family.

Rita is survived by her husband O.K., son Grant (Krista) Goolsby, daughter Gay Lynn (Ken) Clyde, grandchildren Dylan Goolsby, Rachel (Devan) Smith, Kolby Clyde, Kacie Clyde, Kody Bishoprick, Payton Galioto, Anthony Galioto, her brother Ralph (Paulette) Beaty, Jr., and their children Brad, Jana and Susan.

Please join us in a service at Central Church in Richland to celebrate Rita’s life and her journey home, December 8, 2018 at 1 pm.

Rita will be interred in Moscow, ID., at the cemetery located at 1650 Troy Rd., where her daughter’s families are lifelong community members.
