Wayne Campbell, as I knew him, was my second cousin on my fathers side of the family. He came from an incredibly loving and caring family. Wayne reached out to me shortly after my father, Jack Todd passed away, when I was barely 16 years old, and without going in to great detail, Wayne’s intervention and support at a Crossroads period of time in my life, in retrospect was not only life changing, but also quite literally life saving.I’m 64 now and many years have passed.

I would share with his remaining family, that I remained grateful and indebted to Wayne throughout my life, and have shared with my wife and our own 4 children, now all grown, about Wayne’s actions, and the far reaching impact that he had on my life.

It’s important to me that my children understand what a difference they can make in others lives, by reaching out, especially when a family member, near or distant are struggling in their life and realize that they might very well change the course of someone’s life in a meaningful way.

I recently went in search of Wayne, wanting to thank him one last time, and found his obituary instead. I thought I would add my letter of gratitude to Wayne’s memoirs at Sunset Gardens, and hope that Wayne’s family might know what a difference he made in my life, and in turn in the lives of my own family.
