Laura R. Romano passed away at her home in Kennewick, WA on December 10, 2020.
Laura was born in Portland, OR on April 3, 1953 but was primarily raised in Tacoma, WA. Laura met her good friend Helen Harden during junior high school in Tacoma. They remained friends for life and they would talk on the phone for what seemed like hours. She graduated from Stadium High School (the castle) in Tacoma. She later moved to Seattle where she met her husband George Romano. They were married in Alderwood Manor, WA in December 1976.
They moved to Kennewick shortly thereafter because of her new husband’s job at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Laura graduated Cum Laude from Central Washington University in 1993. She never planned on using her degree but wanted to be a college graduate for the college experience.
Laura loved animals, especially dogs and rabbits. She raised many house rabbits during her adulthood. She also enjoyed music and the arts. She loved making collages and pottery until she was no longer able.
She is survived by her husband, George Romano; sister, Valeda King; sister, Kathy Crane; brother, Steven King; friends, Helen Harden , Pat Amiden and Rose Barckley.
Laura is preceded in by her father, Lawrence Crane; mother, Shirley Crane and her brother, Daniel Crane.
A Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Gardens in Richland on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 11:00 am.
Laurie you have been such a big part of my life, since we were teenagers in Junior High School. We have been there for each other countless times. You always made things better. I will miss you forever.
