Milena Jankovic

Milena Jankovic, age 93, was born in Martinci, Serbia on November 21, 1927. She entered Heavens’ gates on April 15, 2021.
A kind-loving mother, and best friend to her only daughter, shared her wisdom about life over the years, imparted precious values and traditions, and always cared deeply for her family. She attended a nursing program at the age of 19 and had a dedicated and commendable career as a pediatric nurse for over 20 years. She loved her “little patients” and shared numerous wonderful stories and memories. She was an avid traveler and explorer and, for many years leading up to her passing, visited many places nationally and internationally. She collected little shot glasses, baseball hats and T-shirts from all of her adventures that she wore routinely and proudly. She also loved her precious coffee or “kafica”, as she like to say, and collected Starbucks mugs wherever they were available. She was a remarkable lady and is survived by her daughter, Diana Jankovic.

A private service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021, at 4 PM at Einan’s at Sunset. Her daughter wishes to thank and express sincere gratitude to all those who have extended emotional support for Milena during her final days

  • I am truly sad to hear that aunt Milena has passed away. Though I never had a chance to meet her and Diana in person, they were always in my heart. I imagine that one day Diana and I could have the opportunity to drink Milenas coffee/kafica together and talk about the past.
I guess that the same way feel the rest of the family from Serbia, especially my father, uncle Vojko.

  • Milena’s infectious smile and beautiful spirit were such an inspiration. I feel so blessed to have known her. The love and bond between Milena and Diana was apparent to everyone who met them.
    She will be dearly missed!
