Wilma Celesta Burdette

Wilma Celesta Burdette, 90 of Kennewick, WA passed away and made her journey to heaven on April 5, 2021 at Chaplaincy Hospice House with her family by her side.
Wilma was born May 24, 1930 in Umapine, Oregon to William F. Parker and Nellie C. Marlatt Parker.
Wilma spent her early years at her parent’s farm located near Lyons Ferry and old Ayer Junction a small Union Pacific Railroad community.   Wilma’s favorite story was about her and her three sisters riding their horses and herding the cattle to the Snake River every summer day.     Wilma graduated from Walla Walla High School (WaHi).
Wilma met Dean Burdette a Union Pacific Railroad employee and former Marine.   They married August 14, 1948 at the United Brethren Church in Walla Walla.   Dean passed away unexpectedly in 1960.    Our family moved to Kennewick in 1963 due to the construction of Lower Monumental Dam.   Wilma went to college and became a License Practical Nurse in 1970.   She enjoyed her career as a nurse.   Wilma attended the Kennewick Nazarene Church.
Wilma enjoyed traveling with her brother Cleve and his wife Charlene Parker.   They traveled to many states to visit their relatives and friends and enjoyed cruises and fishing trips.   Wilma enjoyed fishing and was quite good at catching Steelhead and Salmon.    She enjoyed her trips to Wildhorse Casino.
Wilma is survived by her daughter Celesta Langlo (Rodger) and her son Pat Burdette (Sue) and her daughter Becky Walker (Lewis).   She has two granddaughters Jamie Walker and Shannon Walker.   Wilma is survived by her brothers, Bill Parker (Barbara), Cleve Parker and Chuck Parker (Frances).    She has numerous Parker nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband Dean Burdette, her parents, an infant brother John and sisters Mary Parker Romine and spouse Carroll, Lynette Parker Lee and spouse Ashley and Bernadine Parker MacLean and spouse Berton, and sister-in-law Charlene Parker.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Wilma’s name to Chaplaincy Hospice Care, 1480 Fowler St., Richland, WA  99352.
A Grave side service will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Einan’s Sunset Gardens in Richland.   Family and Friends are welcome to attend.   Please wear a mask.
