Ruth Brodaczynski

Ruth Bernadette (Wildenborg) Brodaczynski was born on February 3, 1933 to William and Catherine Wildenborg in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 1, 2021. She was 88 years old.

When Ruth was approximately 10 years old her father moved their family across the country

 to Richland, Washington where he had begun to work in the Hanford Area. She has lived in Richland and been a member of Christ the King church for 75+ years.

She graduated from Columbia High School and then joined the Army. She trained to be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and worked at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as well as Kadlec Hospital in the Tri Cities.

On May 4th, 1963 she married Edwin W Brodaczynski. She worked in the hospital through the early years of her marriage and then shortly after her last child was born, became a full-time stay-at-home mom.

Ruth enjoyed reading and playing solitaire as well as visiting with her siblings. She was also a collector of ornaments. Most recently she enjoyed meeting with her Saturday Breakfast group each Saturday to catch up on weekly events.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Catherine Wildenborg; her husband Edwin W. Brodaczynski; her brothers Robert and Bernard Wildenborg; her sisters Susan Stafford and Rose Peters; her brother-in-law Don Stafford, her nephew Eric Wildenborg and her sister-in-law Maryann Wildenborg.

She is survived by her sister Catherine (Kit) Robertshaw; sister-in-law Patricia (Pat) Wildenborg; children: Phillip, Dorothy and Aziz Badri, Michael, Charles and Sheila, Theresa; grandchildren: Randy, Bonnie (April), Shannon, Christopher, Jessica, Gabriella, Saud, Sophia, Isaiah and several great grandchildren.

There will be a viewing at Einan’s Funeral home on Monday May 10th from 12:00pm – 4:00pm with a Rosary following.

Funeral service will be held at Christ the King church on Tuesday May 11th at 10:00am. Graveside service will follow at 11:00 am at Sunset Gardens.

  • The Brodaczynski family lived across the street on Birch in the 60’s. Phil invited me over to watch the Wizzard of Oz on their color t.v. (one of the first in the neighborhood.) I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom.
