Mary “Kathy” Katherine Wilcox
Mary “Kathy” Katherine Wilcox was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world unexpectedly on April 13, 2022 at the age of 67.
She was born to Elbert Lowry and Mary Johnson on September 20, 1954. After graduating high school Kathy married her high school sweetheart, Guy Wilcox and followed him across the country to Fort Campbell. After his service in the army, the two came back to the Tri Cities where they started a family. They had three children together: Crystal, Cynthia and Kari.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Lowery, her brothers, Robert and Kenneth Lowry.
She is survived by her mother; Mary Johnson, her husband, Guy Wilcox, her brothers, James and John Lowry, her daughters, Crystal Page, Cynthia Esparza and Kari Agen, her grandchildren, Curtis, Jo’vauni, Samantha, Mercedies, Austin, Alex, and Madison as well as many other family members.
Kathy loved camping and fishing, especially if it was with her family. She loved to help others. She loved shopping and would often find gifts that were meaningful to others. She would always go out of her way to make sure that her children and grandchildren were taken care of and enjoying life to the fullest. Kathy was the kind of person who would drop everything and sacrifice anything to make sure the family was safe, healthy, and together.
The family would like to invite people to honor her memory by focusing on all the positive things she has done and the joy that she brought. Kathy’s heart was never fuller than knowing that her friends and family would gather together, enjoy each other’s company and break bread sharing stories.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Sozo Church located at 1350 S. Rainier St. Kennewick, WA 99337
Her strength was not found in her fight for life but in the fierceness of her love. May we all leave such a legacy of love and passion. Those that knew her will never forget.
I just saw the notice. What a sad day. I lived across the street from Kathy during grade school. I was a bride’s maid at her wedding. We lost touch over the years but I remember her as a very warm and caring friend. My thoughts are with her family.
I will miss you Aunt Kathy. You were a kind presence in my life and my mom’s.
Rest in peace.
Iam so sorry to hear about your loss and am deeply saddened.
Extending my most heartfelt sympathy to you and your family.
