Betty Jo Patterson

Betty “Jo” Patterson, 92, of Kennewick, WA passed away at her home on Thursday, September 1, 2022. Betty was born on July 23, 1930 in Nashville, TN.

Jo came with her parents from Tennessee to the Yakima Valley when she was five. Growing up in the depression era she learned at a young age to garden and preserve the food they grew. Her Christian upbringing and faith in the Lord stayed with her throughout her life.

She married and moved to the Tri-cities where her first child was born in January 1949. She had one son and three daughters. She always said that her children were her best accomplishment. As a homemaker loving mother first and an accomplishment cook, baker and manager of the home front. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting, making and painting pottery, Embroidery and Needle point. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready with some funny southern saying. She loved her children and grand and great grandchildren with all her heart and always said prayers for their safety and health. She always said that she was truly Blessed to have had the life she had!!!!

She is survived by her Life Partner, Al Pogue, one son, Tom Patterson, two daughters; Rana Clark (husband Melvin) and Lee Ann Caslteberry (husband Mike). She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jo was preceded in death by her daughter Sheree Knapp, her parents Franklin and Leona Brizendine and former husband Les Patterson.
