Judy Hankel

On Saturday October 8, 2022, Judith ‘Judy’ Hankel beloved wife, mother and sister passed away at the age of 81. Born to
Bill and Edith Peck on April 27, 1941, in Kansas City MO. Judy spent 2 years there before moving to Richland WA.  She
graduated from Richland High School in 1959. She spoke fondly of her first job at The Uptown Movie theater which fueled
her love for movies, old and new. In 1960 she married Wade Hankel in Richland WA and soon after began her clerical
career at Hanford.  She enjoyed her job and the people with whom she worked until early retirement in 2000.
Judy is proceeded in death by Bill and Edith Peck (parents), Norman and Anna Hankel (in-laws) and Chester Ely (brother).
She is survived by husband Wade, children Mark (Patti), Cindy (Paul), sister Lois Knapp, sister in-law Glenna Ely,
grandchildren, Daniel (Malyda), Terran, Jesse, and beloved great grandchildren Christian, Genesis, Hope and Harmony.
Judy was a voracious reader; the Outlander series comes to mind. She lived life exactly as she chose with a love of family,
home, her dogs, and community.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to Benton Franklin Humane Society 1736 E 7th Ave. Kennewick, WA 99337.
