Danny Legard

Dan Legard passed away peacefully at home on November 20, 2022. He was surrounded by his family
and loved ones. Dan was born in Kellogg, Idaho on June 3, 1951, to Edward and Mary Legard. Dan
attended school in Superior, Plains, and Thompson Falls, MT, and in Wallace ID. He would often
reminisce about growing up by sharing memories of his siblings, playing sports, working in the
mines, and driving a dump truck. Dan began working at Hanford in 1988. After 27 years of working as a
Teamster and then a Transportation Director he happily retired.
While Dan was living in Idaho in 1972, he was blessed with the birth of his son Danny. After moving to
the Tri-Cities, he welcomed his daughter, Jillian, in 1988. In 1999, Dan met the love of his life, Julie. With
their marriage, he acquired a stepson Jared and a stepdaughter Jessie. This made Dan's life complete.
Dan enjoyed his time with his family. He loved his weekly breakfast meetings with his brother Tom, going to
sporting events for his nieces, stepdaughter, and grandchildren, and working on cars. He normally would
liven up a conversation with his quick wit and funny jokes. He tended to have a little half-smirk and you
just knew he was thinking of something funny.
Dan is survived by his wife Julie, son Danny Legard of Pasco, WA (Erik, Ethan, Brooklyn, Kenadee), daughter
Jillian Legard of Kennewick, WA, stepson Jared Colvig of Houston, TX (Kena and Walker), and
stepdaughter Jessie (KC) Wilson of Richland, WA (Halli and Reese). Dan is also survived by his siblings Pat
Legard of Rathdrum, ID, Mike (Loraine) Legard of Ellensburg, WA, Tom (Kathy) Legard of Pasco, WA,
Matt (Brenda) Legard of Billings, MT, and April (Russ) Haakenson of Rathdrum, ID. Dan will also be
missed greatly by his many nieces and nephews. Dan was proceeded in death by his parents, infant
brother Richard, and brothers Jerry Legard and Steve Legard.
