Billy W. Shane (Bill) 89, passed away on December 20, 2022.

Bill Shane was born on July 24, 1933 in Chadwick, MO, to Lewis Shane and Elsie Gray. Bill graduated in 1952 from Columbia High School, Richland, WA. He served in the Army from 1953-1955. He started his career as a Radiation Monitor out at the Hanford Site and went on to work at the same place for about 40 years.

Bill married Barbara Dennis in 1956 and had 2 children, Talya Nay of West Richland and Tonnya Anders, deceased. Bill and Barbara dissolved their marriage in 1977.

Bill married Beatrice Buchholz on June 4, 1978 in Leavenworth, WA and resided in West Richland.
Bill was best known for his years as President of the West Richland Senior Center, volunteer for West Richland Area Chamber of Commerce, and his service to West Richland Fire District.

Bill is survived by Beatrice Shane his loving wife of 44 years, Betty Cluck- sister, Blanche Shane-sister in law, Anita & Glen Cook-sister and brother in law, Chuck and Talya Nay – son in law and daughter, his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he was very proud of along with multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill is preceded in death by Lewis Shane -father, Elsie Gray-mother, Pete Shane and Ed Shane-his 2 brothers, Helen Shane-sister in law, H.T. Cluck-brother in law, Erma and Donald Reichelt -sister and brother in law, Bernice and Harry Hemperly -sister and brother in law, Brett Anders-son in law, and Tonnya Shane Anders-his beloved daughter.

A Time for Remembrance Open House for Bill Shane will be held on January 21st from 2-4 pm at The Mayfield Gathering Place, 331 S 41st Ave., West Richland, WA 99353

Burial: SMG, Richland, WA.
Memorial donations can be made in Bill’s name to Operation We Care, 331 S 41st St, West Richland, WA 99353.
