Celebration of Life
Glen Edward DeLozier
Glen Edward DeLozier passed away on March 4th 2023 at the age of 86, three days before his 87th birthday.
He was born to Rufus and Maxine DeLozier on March 7, 1936 in Chalk Level, Missouri and lived there until 1941. His parents then moved the family to the Yakima Valley in Yakima, Washington where he attended and graduated from high school and went on to attend the Yakima Community College to study Finance.
In December 1955 Glen Married Elaine Shanks and shortly after entered the United States Army where he was a dispersing specialist and auditor.
After his Military commitment was complete he, Elaine and their four girls moved to the Tri-Cities where he managed the Fairway Finance.
In 1963 Glen and Elaine bought a house and spent the next 60 years working and raising their girls.
Glen was a member of the Washington State Jaycees for four years and then a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows until his passing.
Over the years he enjoyed fishing, camping with family, bird hunting, bowling, working in his garden and for the last few years truly enjoyed working on family genealogy which also included the genealogy of family members in the military.
He is survived by his Wife, Elaine DeLozier, Daughters, Kathy Human, Lorraine Burks (Jim), 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, Sister, Sue Dossey, Sister-in-law, Marilyn DeLozier, Aunt, Amanda Palmer along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Rufus and Maxine DeLozier,
Brother, Richard DeLozier, and Daughters, Diane Hall and Barbara Irwin.
I wish that you had known how much your brother Dick DeLozier loved and respected you. Now I see that Dick , Sue and Glen DeLozier were the last of Rufus and Maxine DeLozier’s children. I am happy that all of them taught valuable lessons to my family. I loved each of them. I know that they will all meet up in Heaven. They were all members of the First Baptist church in Wapato, WA
Say hello to everyone up there for me, Dad.
For the Delozier family,
“May each hold Glen in your hearts until you can hold him again in heaven”.
Beautiful lyrics in the song ‘Scars in Heaven’ by Casting Crowns says it so beautifully.:
The only Scars in Heaven,
Thеy won’t belong to me and you
There’ll be no such thing
As Broken and all the old
Will be made New
And the thought that makes me Smile
Now even as the tears fall down
Is that the only Scars in Heaven
Are on the Hands that hold you now.
Our deepest Sympathy,
Richard and Cyndee
