Troy Fleet Hatley

Troy Fleet Hatley, 35, of West Richland, Washington, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Saturday, June 24th, 2023. His family and friends are deeply saddened by this sudden and unexpected loss.

Troy was born on July 7th, 1987, to Tony (Cricket) Alexander Hatley and Memorie Lynn Green, in Long Beach, California. After Troy graduated from North High School in Bakersfield, California, he moved to the Tri-Cities area of Washington. Troy was raised in large part by his sister, Jennifer Woodall and her husband Tim Woodall, after joining them full-time in July, 2005. He helped to raise his nieces, Chase and Alex, and his nephews, Ryan and Zachary. While residing in Moses Lake, Washington, he met his future wife, Jeannie Darling Arthur. Troy moved back to the Tri-Cities with Jeannie, became married, and joined the Labor Union to start a career with Inland Asphalt. Over the years, he worked his way up from a laborer, to foreman, to a superintendent position. Troy and Jeannie went on to have two beautiful children, Ryker Lee Hatley and Lorelai Darling Hatley.

Troy was an avid Green Bay Packer’s fan, the central joy of all family gatherings, and a reliable brother to all. His hard work to care for his family was recognized by everyone who knew him. He was an exemplary husband and father, and his dad jokes were nothing to be laughed at. He had a special love for the fourth of July and will be thought of by family and friends alike with all future fireworks for many a year to come. Though he did not live to know of it, he was of Viking heritage, a recently upturned fact that he would have been exorbitantly proud of.

Troy was predeceased by both sets of Grandparents, his Father, and his beloved niece Alexandra Christine Hatley. He is survived by numerous family members including his wife and children, his mother, brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends who became family.

Services will be held at (Einans) Event Center – Events at Sunset on July 14th, 2023, at 6pm.                                                                                                                                                                                   915 Bypass Highway, Richland WA 99352

Reception at the Hatley residence to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to funds set up to benefit Jeannie, Ryker, and Lorelai. Information regarding these funds will be present at the service.

  • Tho I did not know Troy personally for I worked and was friends with Jeannie, I knew Troy was a great person and truly loved his family. It was for a birthday or anniversary and he brought flowers to work for Jeannie. I remember asko g her if he had any older brother single brothers. I remember her telling me how they met and that they had been thru the ups and downs but they always made it thru what ever and that she didn’t know what she would do with out him. Both kids are well mannered and polite but still know how to have fun and that is a direct reflection of the parents. Troy was a great dad. My heart breaks for the family. But I know they will be fine. Jeannie is a great, caring person with a good judge of character, she chose Troy, so I know she will guide the kids lovingly onto the future while keeping Troy’s memory alive with a little help from someone up above. Rest in Peace Troy. You may be gone but definately won’t be forgotten because there will forever be a part of you in those beautiful kids.

It was a great honor to know you. To watch you grow up into the man you became. The world is not the same without you. You will be missed by so many. Give Alex a hug from me. Ask around to see if you can find my dad. We will all meet again one day. I wish I could be half the person you were! You are one of the best!

He was the whole package of a Man.
He was a father you could only hope to measure up to.
He was a friend that you could only dream of being.
He was a Family member you always wanted by your side.
If you met Troy it doesn’t take long to know what kind of person. (Man). That is was.
Then you to would be a friend and part of the Family.
Troy I will miss you and our talks of football, and random things.
