Virginia Conner Bromley
December 7, 1937 – June 10, 2023
Richland, Washington – Ginger Bromley sang for others her whole life and now we sing for her. We sing of her love for her parents. Ginger was born to Irvin and Melba Conner in Cleveland, Mississippi, and remained a true Southern girl her whole life. We sing of her love of learning. She graduated from Columbia High School in Richland in 1955 and attended Mary Hardin-Baylor College in Belton, Texas, where she excelled at music and literature. We sing of her love for her husband, Douglas E. Bromley. They met when Doug rented a one-bedroom prefab from her Dad. Doug and Ginger married at Richland Baptist Church on September 8, 1962, and remained forever at each other’s side for 60 years of marriage. We sing of her love of singing. She was a soprano of choice for all occasions and types of music: lullabies for her children and grandchildren, Sunday morning solos, funerals, weddings, ensemble groups and even full classical choir for Handel’s Messiah. We sing of her love for her children, Doug, Dan and Coral. Her gift for motherhood made the world a magical place for them, full of song and story. She is also survived by brother Mike Conner and wife Ellen; and son- and daughters-in-law Kris Bromley, Tray Caldwell and Masayo Bromley. She has 7 grandchildren: Grant Bromley, Danae Powers and Grayson Bromley, Kyle and Claire Caldwell, Kei and Mei Bromley; and one great grandchild, Remi Bromley. We sing of her love for her church. In her life she was a member of Richland Heights Baptist Church, Kennewick Baptist Church (where she served as Church Secretary) and Richland Baptist Church (where she served as Church Librarian). We sing for you now, Ginger, as you sing with the angels for your Lord in Heaven.
Funeral services for Ginger will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 16, at Richland Baptist Church, 1632 George Washington Way in Richland, Washington.
