Lyla Jeraldine (Brown) Elliott, 96, of Richland, Washington, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at EvergreenHealth Hospice Care in Kirkland, Washington.
She was born May 13, 1927 in Glade, Kansas to Earl (Nick) and Ruby Gladys (Stevens) Brown.
Lyla attended school in Phillipsburg, Kansas, where she also graduated in 1945 from high school.
She moved to Denver, Colorado, after graduating, where she met and married Warren D. Elliott on May 11, 1947. Lyla and Warren moved to Richland, Washington that same year after Warren accepted a job at the Hanford Nuclear reservation.

Lyla is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Steve) Deason of Campbell California, son Doug (Liz) of Kirkland, Washington and son Brian (Sandy) of Salem, Oregon. Grandchildren, in age order, Amy Iniguez, Leon Iniguez, Chelsey (Elliott) Anderson (Reece), Cameron Elliott (Melissa), Devin Funkenbusch, Jacob Elliott, Matthew Elliott (Kelsey), Brianna (Elliott) Sachs (Sterling) and seven great grandchildren, Kyrie Carr, Molly Elliott, Sawyer Elliott, Kayda Carr, Charli Sachs, Jayce Carr and Lyla Sachs.

Lyla was known and loved by the members of First Baptist Church of Richland, Washington, where she and Warren had been members since June of 1962.

Lyla’s welcoming smile, all encompassing generosity and gracious loving heart will be sorely missed, as will her Candy Cane Cookies, frozen cranberry salad and delicious cinnamon rolls (recipe sourced from the Richland School district when she worked at Chief Joseph Junior High cafeteria in the 1970’s)

Lyla will be interred at Resthaven Cemetary in Richland at a graveside service on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 2:30 pm.
