Kathleen Ann Kehl, 77, of Richland, WA, passed away on August 1, 2023, in the arms of her daughter and granddaughter.

Kathy’s life’s work revolved around her deep love for children and her unwavering belief in the Montessori philosophy and its transformative teachings. Over a span of 35 years, she devoted herself to guiding both children and parents through the principles of this philosophy. As the founder and committed administrator of Children’s Garden Montessori School, she leaves behind a profound and enduring legacy, having nurtured and shaped countless young minds in this esteemed early childhood education center.

In her later years she enjoyed square dancing, fiber, and other community arts. She loved traveling and helping to raise her granddaughter. Kathy will be remembered for her strength, courage, kindness, and true passion towards children, family, and friends.

Kathy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. A celebration of Kathy’s life will take place on Thursday August 10th, 2pm at Shalom United Church of Christ. All are welcome.
