Alice Marie (Ehrmantraut) Rieckman was born in Dickinson, ND on October 24th, 1929, and went to be with Our Lord on September 23, 2023 in Richland, WA. She grew up on a farm outside of town and was very proud of her education. She worked at a creamery in Dickinson as a young woman. Alice met Bill Rieckman and they married in 1949. They had two daughters and moved westward until settling in the Tri-Cities in 1960. Alice was a longtime bookkeeper for the Finley School District. She also raised horses with Bill on their small farm in Finley.

Alice was a voracious reader, an avid gardener, and an excellent chef and baker. She always had a stack of books on the go, a garden big enough to feed 12 people all summer and could be convinced by wily grandchildren to make cinnamon rolls most weekends. She enjoyed hosting dinners and playing card games, as well as traveling with Bill whenever weather permitted (and sometimes when it did not).

She is survived by her daughters Joan and Patricia, her 7 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, as well as her sister Joan and brother Leo.

Rosary will be October 11th, at 4 p.m. at Einan’s at Sunset Funeral Home; the funeral Mass will be October 12th, at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kennewick, WA. A reception will follow Mass. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland.
