Gloria “Dede” Thomas Goodwin
In the afternoon of September 28th, 2023, the bright light that was the life of Gloria Lee (Thomas) Goodwin dimmed as peacefully passed away. We say dimmed, not died since she will remain in the minds and hearts of her family forever. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
Gloria, (aka Dede), was born on July 15th, 1941, in Tonasket, WA. She spent her youth growing up in the Methow Valley, where she graduated from Twisp High School. Shortly after that she moved to Moses Lake and then to Pasco WA.
While working at Haas Western Wear Store in Pasco, WA she met and married the love of her life Darrel Goodwin. Thereafter they moved to Othello, WA where they raised their 3 daughters. Gloria worked full time while being the best wife and mom to our family. She worked for Cal Courtright Cattle Company, Dr. Richard Rydman and McCain Foods. As they prepared for retirement, she and Darrel moved back to Pasco in 1996. They built a home in North Pasco on Bellevue Road, where they have lived for the past 27 years.
Gloria passed away peacefully at home on September 28th, 2023, with her husband and family.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvan and Margaret Thomas and brother Tom Thomas.
She survived by her husband, Darrel, daughters Jody Tucker (Nip), Kelly McDaniels, and Abby Hilmes (Stewart). Grandchildren; Tait Tucker (Ailee), Trew Tucker, Trey Nyman (Quinton), Zak McDaniels(Kendal), Trevor Hilmes, Brady Hilmes (Kimra), and numerous family by heart, cousins and friends.

Such a beautiful celebration of a very special woman. I’m sad that I could not have been there in person. She has left a hole here on earth and in so many hearts which no one else could possibly fill. I loved her smile, sense of humor and most of the way she truly LOVED her family and friends. I see that delightful twinkle in her eyes passed down through her family.
Praying God’s comfort through this difficult time and through all the days ahead. May you feel His Love and Peace surround you and fill the very air you breathe. May you find Joy in the midst of the pain when reliving all the wonderful memories you have made with her.
