David M. Dean

David Dean, 67, passed away on October 21, 2023, in Richland, WA surrounded by family and friends.
David Dean was born on August 23, 1956 at Presidio Army Post in San Francisco, CA to Martin Dean and Sandra Ralston.

In his youth, David enjoyed going to the park and the bowling alley. He spent a lot of time running around with his brothers and getting into mischief. David worked at the local grocery store and enlisted in the Army National Guard after leaving school.

David served in the Army National Guard from 1974 to 1975 as an Armor Crewman. He was recognized as a decorated marksman with an M-16 Rifle.

David loved rock and roll music. He walked all over town and could be seen singing to his music and using his walking stick as an air guitar. Dave also loved fishing, football, and spending time with friends and family. He was an avid reader. He loved science fiction and Stephen King novels. But his pride and joy was his family; his siblings, his sons, his grandkids and his dog, Lily.

David is survived by his sons Leslie Dean (Kirsten Dean), Vincent Dean, Damian Dean, and Kristopher Dean. Also, by his sister Kerry Butler (Gary Butler), sister Debra Hughes (Joe Hughes) and brother Ed Dean (Bobi Dean). Dave leaves behind his grandchildren Anastasia Dean, Mariah Morris, Shelby Dean, Angela Dean, Izzayah Purnell-Dean, Hailey Dean, Harley Dean, Stasha Dean, and Harmony Dean as well as his great granddaughter, Skylar Dean. Dave also leaves behind many, many nieces and nephews who he treasured as well.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Martin Dean and Sandra Ralston and his brother, Rod Dean.
