Michael F Wall

Michael (Mike) F. Wall, 61, of Grandview and Tri-Cities, passed away peacefully at home after a valiant fight with cancer, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 18th, 2023.

Mike was born in Soap Lake, Washington on July 10, 1962 to Mary and Fred Brisky. His family moved to Grandview shortly after his birth, and he was later adopted by his step-father Hugh Wall at the age of 7. He graduated from Grandview High School in the class of 1980, and was married to Marcie Whitney in 1982.

Mike started farming in 1987 on the family farm until 1999. He worked subsequently at Sunnyside Safeway and Rosa Irrigation, before becoming a Radiological Technician (HPT) and traveling around the country to job sites until 2006. After that, he worked for various contractors at the Hanford Site, where he celebrated his 15-year work anniversary in 2021.

Mike became an avid hiker about 8 years ago and climbed Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Adams, Camp Muir at Mt. Rainier, and Mt. Whitney. He was a fan of Formula One racing, visiting the Austin races 5 times, and cheering on his favorite driver Romain Grosjean. He loved many outdoor hobbies: motorcycle adventures with his wife and good friend Cliff Classen, Dust Devils baseball games, snowmobiling, scuba diving, caving, camping, and fishing. He was a rescue diver for the Tri-City Water Follies hydroplane races, and was an on- and off-stage presence for many Valley Theater Company productions. He was also the designated driver and rock hauler for rock hunting adventures with Marcie. When he wasn’t off on an adventure, his favorite place was at the family cabin: chopping wood, lighting fires, driving grandkids around on the tractor, or just relaxing with a book.

Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years Marcie Wall, children Melinda (Tim) Gleghorn and Marcus (Kathryn) Wall, sister Jane (Clyde) Elliott, brother Tim Brisky, step-mother Ramona Wall, step-siblings Lorie Adams, Rainy (Char) Fischer, and Angie (Darrin) Smith, five grandchildren and numerous extended family.

He is preceded in death by mother Mary Wall, adoptive father Hugh Wall, and father Fred Brisky.

A public memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Friday October 27, 2023 at Einan’s Event Center, 1451 Cemetery Rd, Richland, WA 99354. An online memorial is available on the Einan’s Funeral Home website and they may be contacted for any additional information.
