Peggy Ann Draper
Peggy Ann Draper, age 82, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Richland, Washington, on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
She was born on January 21, 1941, in Wilbur, Washington, to Goldie and Oliver Webley. As a child her family settled in Benton City, Washington, where she attended school and graduated from Kiona-Benton High School. While in high school, Peggy met her sweetheart, J.C., and the two were married in June of 1958.
Peggy and J.C. had two children, Jay and Connie. The family had a loving life together full of many adventures with vacations and time spent with extended family and friends.
Family meant the most to Peggy. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her world. She had an enormous amount of love to give, and she gave it every day. She was such a positive and kind soul who never had a bad thing to say about others. Whatever interests and hobbies her husband and kids had, she was there to support them 100%.
Peggy spent many years working as an executive secretary at Westinghouse Hanford Company. She and J.C. owned and operated a satellite system company and other small business endeavors throughout the years. Peggy had a passion for genealogy, and would spend a great deal of time researching her family history and ancestors. She also loved to draw and was quite the artist.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, J.C., and sisters Frances Stafford and Sue Vickerman. She is survived by her son Jay Draper of Coulee City, Washington, and daughter Connie Baydo of Richland, and grandchildren Carey Draper of Richland, Jennifer Draper-Chevalier of Santa Clara, California, Reed Draper of Kennewick, Washington, and Jack Draper of Kennewick. Peggy also leaves behind her sister Penny Gouge of Las Vegas, Nevada, and brother Donald Webley of Vancouver, Washington, as well as many extended family members.
A funeral is scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington. Peggy will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband. Relatives and friends are welcome to join in this ceremony to remember Peggy and share stories. If planning on attending, please try to arrive by 11 a.m. and proceed to the Assembly Area at the cemetery.
