Geri M. McCaw

Geraldine (Geri) Marie Lavoy

Geraldine Marie (McCaw) Lavoy, 94, was daughter of the late Harvey Francis Lavoy and Henrietta
Rose Boisvert (Greenwood), born June 3, 1929 in Jericho, Vermont. She was raised and educated in
Northhampton, MA, where she was married in 1952 and moved to Westfield, MA to raise her family.
In 1965 her adventurous spirit lead her to the west coast where she eventually settled and lived for
47 years in East Wenatchee, WA in the Wenatchee Valley.

She was baptized Catholic and was a long time communicant of the Catholic Church. Her faith was
her strength and helped her through many challenging times.

Geri had a quiet but strong constitution that guided her in all aspects of her life. She always loved to
laugh and laughed easily. She loved the outdoors, loved camping, going to the beach, just being
outside with nature. She never had time for hobbies, her family was her hobby.

She was straight forward, and someone who had a way of touching every persons life with her
kindness, honesty, caring, intelligence, and quick wit. No matter what she did she put her whole
heart and soul into it.

Our Mother loved and was totally devoted to her family, every house we lived in she made a home.
She taught her children independence, strength, compassion, honesty, hard work and the value of
loving, caring and helping others.

Because of her daughter Karen, she was involved for many years volunteering for the Special
Olympics in Wenatchee, WA.

Her love for animals brought her “Puddles” (the 3rd), her little Chichuahua , who had an abundance
of personality. He was her long time companion and protector and their communication with one
another could be quite amusing at times. To say the least they were very much in-sync with one
another.

As she got older at times she forgot her age, saying that she didn’t want to go to the senior center
because it was all old people there and she wanted to be around the young and energetic.
Her last year on this earth was filled with medical hardship which she faced with quiet dignity and
courage. She will forever be loved for the truly loving and amazing woman God Blessed us with,
forever our loving Mother, Grandmother and best friend.

Geri was preceded in death by her son Clarence R. Smith, Jr (1997) and daughter Karen Lee Iverson
in 2009, her sister Janet Beebe, and brothers Raymond, Thomas, Edgar, Harvey and Roger Lavoy of
Massachusetts.

She is survived by her son Larry Rogers and his wife Carolyn of Kennewick, WA; Mark Smith and
his wife Sandi of The Dalles, OR.; her son David of Wenatchee, WA. and daughter Diane Thomas and
her husband Jeffrey of Rhode Island, plus numerous grandchildren and friends.

Because of her love and love of life, generous spirit and wonderful personality she was loved and
will be missed by all who knew her. Now she is in Our Lord’s loving and comforting hands to be
guided to her heavenly home and be reunited to those she lost and loves.

Her wake will be held at Einan’s At Sunset Funeral Home on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 2-4
in Richland, WA. Burial will be private at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday,
December 5 in E. Wenatchee, WA. at 1:00 pm

  • I only was able to be in Geri’s life for the last few weeks of her life but she was a wonderful woman and I enjoyed the time we spent together. She has left a lasting impression in my heart.
