Gerard “Gerry” Patrick Feser
Gerard Patrick Feser was born to Clarence and Patricia Feser on April 6th, 1961. He died on
December 22nd, 2023 in Richland Washington. Gerry was a “middle child”, amongst three other
brothers and four sisters, but was by no means quiet or unseen. Gerry was always our “quirky”
brother, giving silly names to each of his siblings, that we still laugh about and fondly
remember….Susan was “Spouse”, Julie was “Spoonhilda”, Jeanne was “Zipper”, Michelle was
“Scooter trash”. For the brothers: Mike was “Schmig”, Steve was “Sub” and Joel was “Ralm”.
Why, we will never know or understand the mind of our fabulously unique brother.
The family watched as Gerry went off to the Army after high school and returned, having
suffered a mental breakdown and was diagnosed with schizophrenia. We watched as Gerry
experienced mental ups and downs, a myriad of psych meds, and just struggling to try and live
a normal life. Mom and Dad tirelessly went to bat for Gerry, not only by helping to secure him an
honorable discharge from the Army, but eventually moved Gerry back home, where he was
more content to be closer to family and loved ones.
Gerry had a most intelligent mind. He loved astronomy and looking at the universe through a
telescope, picking out constellations and galaxies. Gerry had a unique ability to see things
differently and spent hours drawing ideas and concepts of his own design. He had a sharp mind
for numbers and an even sharper mind for reading, speaking and language. He could do
whatever he put his mind to and learned to play the accordion just several years ago.
Gerry spoke freely about his love for Our Heavenly Father, and could be seen reading his
bible often. Gerry was like an innocent child, praying openly and speaking unabashedly about
Jesus, his Lord and Savior. In Mark 10:15 Jesus says to the disciples, “Truly, I say to you,
whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it”. We will rest in the
peace, knowing that brother and son Gerry, has entered God’s Great Kingdom and shall suffer
no more. We love you, brother.
So sorry for your loss, Susan and family.
Pat & Fess: My parents were Jim & Lil Gallagher from Finley. I just ran across your son’s obituary & wanted to convey my sorrow to you, as I know having a sick loved one can weigh on you. It sounds, though, that Gerry did well in “his own world” & I agree with you that it can give you such peace to know he’s in a better place with no worries anymore!
I remember you both fondly & hope you’re healthy & enjoying life. My parents, & brother Kenny, have both passed on & are too free of life’s challenges. Much love to you both.
Rest well, Gerry. It was fun talking to you and getting to know you.
So sorry for the Feser Family he was a nice person to be around
So sorry for your loss. I will miss his friendly smile and Hello when we met.
