Mark William Brydon

Mark William Brydon passed away December 7th, 2023 from multiple organ failures while in hospice care.

A celebration of his life will be held in the summer of 2024 in Great Falls, MT. More details will be announced as the time gets closer.

Mark was born on February 20th, 1969 to Robert and Carolee Brydon in Missoula, MT. He grew up in Great Falls, MT, and graduated from Charels M. Russell High School.

Throughout his life, Mark loved playing sports. As a Rustler he played football and baseball. In addition, he loved downhill skiing. He became an expert skier, and you could often find him flying down the slopes of King’s Hill at the Showdown Ski Resort. As he got older, Mark enjoyed playing recreational basketball at the local gym or community center. When not playing sports, Mark was an avid sports spectator. In his twenties he moved to Portland, OR with his family. He loved to attend Portland Trail Blazers, Timbers, and Winterhawks games. On weekends he’d watch as much college and professional football as he could.

After high school graduation, Mark decided to spend a summer with a good friend in Alaska, working on a fishing boat. He came home flush with money, and more importantly, stories from his adventure. He spent his days on the boat, and evenings working at the cannery. At night they’d camp out, and then get up the next morning to do it all again.

Once he landed in Portland, Mark worked for years as a Water/Fire Restoration Technician. He often said the work was physically demanding but loved the job because he was dispatched all over the United States, affording him a cheap way to travel and see the country. In 2017 Mark decided to leave Portland for the Tri-Cities, WA area. Once settled in Pasco, WA, he worked as a Warehouse Lead for a local food distributor. He enjoyed the work, training new employees, liaising between the warehouse and other departments and helping his teammates.

Mark loved his family and always enjoyed being around his nephews and niece. He also had a creative mind. Often the love of his family and his creativity intertwined. He made mixed tapes, and later CDs, of his favorite music to share, drew elaborate pictures and logos, played imaginary games, wrote stories about some of his favorite memories, including homage to his favorite drummer Neil Peart from the band Rush, and could turn a cardboard box into any sort of vehicle one could imagine.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Clara (Even) Fox and Orville and Jeannie (Hopstad) Brydon. He is survived by his parents, Robert and Carolee (Fox) Brydon, two younger sisters, Katherine (Brydon) Estrada (Trey Sullivan), and Jennie Brydon (Eric Otterman), two nephews, Magnus (Gus) and Odin (Rudy) Estrada, and one niece, June Otterman.

A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland, WA December 15th, 2023 at 12:00p.
