In Loving Memory of Nancy Gonzalez

With heavy hearts, we announce that Nancy Gonzalez peacefully passed away on the morning of January 21, 2024, to be with the Lord. Born in Watertown, South Dakota, on July 22, 1944, to Foy and Loretta Peterson, Nancy’s life was a testament to her strength, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Nancy’s journey with her beloved husband, Jose Gonzalez, began in Sun Valley, Idaho, leading them to a beautiful union in 1964 in South Dakota. Together, they built a life full of love and cherished memories.

She was the loving sister to Bob Peterson and Jean Campbell. Nancy was a devoted mother to Maria Breitenstein, Mario Gonzalez, and Cristina Gonzalez. Her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother was one she cherished deeply, leaving a legacy of love and wisdom for her 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Nancy’s warm heart touched many lives beyond her family. For 32 years, she was the proud owner and manager of the Bible Shoppe in Richland, where she connected with the community through her faith and compassion. Her kind spirit and generous nature will be remembered by all who knew her.

Nancy’s life was a beautiful reflection of her values: family, faith, and community. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those she touched.

Please join us in celebrating Nancy’s life [details of the memorial service, if applicable].

“Her light shines on in the love and memories we hold in our hearts”

“With love, The Gonzalez Family”

  • I remember Aunt Nancy as always smiling, caring and thoughtful. She was a ray of sunshine. Our sorrows are comforted in knowing that she has joined loved ones in heaven where there is no pain, no suffering…only peace, love, and community. I imagine Jesus with outstretched arms saying – welcome home!
