Travis William Daniels

Travis William Daniels was born January 11, 2008 in Roseburg, Oregon and was a miracle baby to his parents, Soncrae Campbell and Joseph Daniels. Travis faced medical issues early on, being born with a skin tag on the bottom of his spinal cord. That led his family to Portland, Oregon so Travis could have an MRI as those were signs of a spinal bifida and if it wasn’t for having been born via c-section, Travis would have been paralyzed from the waist down. It was there in Portland that the anesthesiologist found his heart murmur just as he was getting ready to go under anesthesia. Travis went under open heart surgery at 6 months old and came out of surgery with complete heart block and was in need of an external pacemaker and later received an internal pacemaker. Despite the many medical challenges he faced, Travis was resilient and never let his medical issues hold him back from a normal childhood. He was the happiest kid his family and friends knew.

Travis was later cleared to play t-ball, then baseball and basketball and loved every minute of it. He was a sports enthusiast and played his heart out. Travis always wanted to play football like his older brother but since he couldn’t play due to medical reasons, he studied college football and the NFL. He could tell you about any player and their stats, no matter if they were starters or second string. His favorite teams were the Seattle Seahawks and the Tennessee Titans.

As he got older, Travis found a new love in playing Pokémon Go along with other video games on his beloved X-box. He was the best Uncle “Travalina” to his many nieces and nephews and loved to teach them how to play on the X-box, too.

Travis attended public school at Marcus Whitman for kindergarten and first grade and then was homeschooled through the K-12 program. His favorite subject was math and he had four pet birds that loved to “help” him with his homework by tapping on the computer screen. Travis loved all his birds, but his favorite was a cockatiel named Moon.

Aside from video games and sports, Travis also enjoyed watching anime, fishing, and lovingly giving his family a hard time. Travis had a heart of gold and was described as a gentle giant; someone who would give the shirt off his back or his last dollar to help anyone in need. He was a kind soul with a loving personality and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

Travis is survived by his parents, Soncrae S. Campbell and Joseph W. Daniels, his sisters; Raianna K. Campbell, Chloe M. Campbell, Kami L. Campbell, his brother, Gabriel A. Campbell, and many nieces, nephews, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
