Daniel L. McMurtrey

Daniel L. McMurtrey passed away on March 24th, 2024 in Richland, Washington.

Born to Claude and Eunice McMurtrey on March 16th, 1946 in Richland, WA. Daniel grew up developing a love for his country and classic muscle cars. At a young age, Daniel enlisted into The United States Army and faithfully served for several years. After military life, Daniel eventually found a career in Transporation as a truck driver, enjoying those open roads and scenic views. Daniel also found immense joy in building his own car collection, adding a 1968 Chevelle and a 2001 Camero into the mix.

His Christian roots and love for the Lord guided him through his life and while raising his family. The family wanted to share the following passages in remembrance of Daniel’s life:

Psalms 27:1-5 (NIV): “The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.”

Psalm 119:33–34 (ESV): “Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.”

1 Peter 4:12-14 (KJV): “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”

Daniel L. McMurtrey will forever be remembered as being an amazing Father and even better Grandfather.

The McMurtrey family has put together a Celebration of Life with Military Honors for Daniel and the memories we will forever cherish of him to be held on Monday, April 8th @ 1pm with graveside placement to follow.
