Maria Alicia Lopez
Maria Alicia Lopez(Lecha), age 74, passed away on March 1, 2024.
Maria was born in Mier, Tamaulipas MX to Alejandro Gomez and Otilia Gomez. Maria was raised in Rio Grande City, TX. Maria was currently working as a Home Care Provider. Maria also worked as an on call nurse at Sunnyside Hospital. Maria had a big heart and enjoyed being around children. Maria enjoyed foster parenting , she took in many of her children’s friends when they needed a place to stay. Maria loved spending time with her family especially being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marias legacy will live on through her Daughter’s, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren Maria Alicia Lopez(Lecha) will be missed always, but never forgotten and forever in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by Alejandro Gomez (Father), Otilia Gomez (Mother) Hortencia Trevino(sister),Amanda Bazan (sister), Oscar Gomez(brother), Maria Guadalupe (Lupe) Gomez, Cipriana (Pana) Garza and a Great Grandson Hector Gomez and Great Granddaughter Kaylani Izabella she is survived by five Daughters And best friends Cecilia Lopez, Dalia Lopez, Delia Lopez, Ofelia Lopez(Victor Espinoza), Connie Lopez and Norma, Victor and Gabe Calderon. Also survived by her Grandchildren Alejandra and Adrian Gomez, Orlando and Andrew Cortez, Shantel Erickson, Victoria (Aaron) Ramirez, Virgina(Delilah) Alejandro, and Judith Vazquez, and Otilia (Nicholas Longoria) and Ricardo Longoria and Elijah Gomez and Great Grandchildren Ezekiel Mateo Longoria, Rogelio, Elliana Ramirez and Elizabeth, Kristina Cruz
Maria’s favorite charity was Raise for Rowyn, because of her Great- Granddaughter Kaylani Izabella. This is a non-profit Organization that help families struggling with the loss of a child.
