Olive S. Jackson passed away on Friday, March 22nd, 2024 in Kennewick, Washington.
Born September 24th, 1923, in Landa, North Dakota, Olive was a true rarity to reach the milestone and admired age of 100 years. She is proceeded in death by the love of her life and Husband, John L. Jackson, as well as her sons: John Steven Jackson, Marc Jackson, and Jeffery Jackson. Olive’s memory lives on as she is survived by her sons Michael, Bruce, and Timothy as well as twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and even four great-great-grandchildren.
Raised with a large farming family in Landa, North Dakota, Olive learned early a life of service especially when it came to aiding others. After graduating high school early in 1941, Olive then went on to also graduate from St. Andrew’s School of Nursing in Bottineau, North Dakota in 1944. Shortly after she obtained her nursing degree, she enlisted into The United States Army Nursing Corp in 1945, beginning her career in the medical field.
Olive went on to meet and marry her husband, John, in Minnesota before they made the long trip West and moved to Bremerton, Washington in 1946 before relocating to Richland, Washington in 1951 to grow their family. Olive and John welcomed six sons into their arms; raising all those boys were some of Olive’s proudest moments.
Even while raising six boys, Olive found the time and dedication to work for Kadlec Hospital in Richland as a Registered Nurse. She then went on to become the Director of Nursing with Kadlec for many dedicated years before her retirement.
Olive S. Jackson was an intelligent woman, who enjoyed helping others, playing bridge and dominoes, occasionally divulging in a sweet treat, and loving her family endlessly.
The family has prepared a graveside service on Sunday, April 7th, 2024, at 1pm held with Einan’s at Sunset Memoria Gardens in remembrance of Olive S. Jackson.
Those who knew and loved Olive are welcome to attend.
