Phyllis Suzanne Curet
Phyllis Suzanne Curet (83) was born in Miles City, MT to parents Bruce and Phyllis Vail. As a young child she spent a few years in Germany with her military family. During her formative years her family was posted at various military installations. While posted at Fort Monroe in Virginia she attended high school where she met her future husband Don Curet. They married in 1961 and were blessed with five sons – Tim, Tom, Ted, Bruce, and Robert and their spouses Saundra, Kathleen, Christine, Nichole, and Sarah. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and many others who also consider her “Mom”. During the years between raising the boys to school age and her entry to work outside the home, Sue and Don were foster parents to 13 infants while they awaited their forever home. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob, and her youngest son, Robert.
Prior to their 62-year marriage, Sue worked at the National Science Foundation in Washington, D. C. and attended college at George Washington University. Sue and Don, with son Tim, moved to Idaho Falls in 1962 where they raised the 5 boys. In 1988 the family moved to Richland, Washington.
Sue was a parishioner at Holy Rosary Catholic parish in Idaho Falls and Christ King Catholic parish in Richland. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday March 27 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Life Care-Richland, Guardian Angels Homes, and Tri-City Chaplaincy who provided compassion to Sue. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request memorial donations to Tri-City Chaplaincy or to her, or your, house of worship.
Our deepest condolences to Mrs. Curet’s family.
