Epifanio Perez Martinez
Celebration of Life
Epifanio Perez Martinez
Epifanio “Epi” Perez Martinez, age 46, of Kennewick, Washington, unexpectedly departed this world on March 25, 2024, joining his mother Maria Juana Perez Prieto, sister Cecilia Martinez, brother Alejandro Martinez, son Santiago Martinez, paternal grandmother Romona Prieto Cabrera and Maternal grandfather Santiago Perez in their eternal home.
Born on April 27, 1977, in Cueramaro México, Epi was the eldest child of four to Jesus Martinez and Maria Juana Perez Prieto. He resided in Mexico for the first two years of his life prior to moving to the United States with his parents.
Embarking on a new adventure, his family moved in Prosser, Washington, joining his mother’s family who resided there. Epi spent his early years attending school in Grandview, Washington. There, his passion for sports began, finding joy in wrestling, football, and track. He excelled in sports and was quite the ladies’ man. At the young age of 15, Epi caught the eye of his future wife, Patricia Martinez, and the mother of his seven children.
In March of 1995, Patricia and Epi welcomed their first child and although young, he was determined to be a great father. He immediately got a job in agriculture, and his family quickly expanded. Epi and Patricia had a total of five girls and two boys.
For his career, Epi worked in construction and agriculture for his entire life. At one point, he even owned his own landscaping company. He was a very hard worker and loved providing for his family. Known to his kids as a super dad, he loved taking them fishing, camping, and on any adventure he could put together.
Epi was a talented fisherman who could turn anything into a fishing pool. He had many other passions such as camping, vacationing, and, most importantly, watching the Denver Broncos play. Epi was a simple man, and there wasn’t a day you didn’t see him without a coca-cola and a cigarette in his hand.
He is greatly loved and mourned by his family and friends who have treasured their memories of him. His humor, positivity, fighting spirit, and unique outlook on life will never be forgotten. He adored his children and always said “they are and always will be the best thing I’ve ever done in life”.
Epi overcame many battles in life but never gave up hope. He will forever be missed, loved, but never forgotten. Epi is survived by his children, Dominique Martinez, AnnJuanett Martinez, Jesus Martinez, Leticia Martinez, Nathalia Martinez, and Carolina Martinez. He will be forever cherished by his grandchildren, Azaleana Manzo, Emrys Garcia, Arale Guizar, and Marcellus Martinez. He will always be remembered by his siblings, Jorge Martinez, Leticia Perez and half-siblings Elizabeth Martinez, Josue Martinez, Jesus Jr. Martinez, Sarah Martinez, as well as his father Jesus Martinez, maternal grandmother Dorotea Prieto Avila, and paternal grandfather Jesus Martinez, as well as many other relatives and extended family.
Epifanio’s family has put together a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, April 17th @ 11am at Smith’s Funeral Home in Grandview, Washington, inviting those who would like to remember and honor Epi’s life to attend.
