Cely York
Cely Pule York, 73, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, in Kennewick, Washington. She was born on April 17, 1951, in Masbate, PI.
Cely was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She brought joy and light to every room she entered, touching the lives of all who knew her. Growing up in the Philippines among 10 siblings, Cely was part of a large family, being 6 of 11 children. In 1975, she married Steve Bickel and together they had two children of their own. Cely was a devoted wife and mother, extending her love and support not only to her immediate family but also assisted in the education of thirteen nieces and nephews back in the Philippines, ensuring their success with her generosity and guidance.
Cely moved to the USA in 1976 and became a US Citizen in 1984. Later, she married Marvin York in June of 2008, expanding her family and her heart with open arms.
In her career, Cely worked as a clerk for Lamb-Weston, where she dedicated herself to her responsibilities with diligence and care. Outside of work, she found joy in gardening and singing karaoke. Her green thumb and love for music were just a few of the many ways she expressed her creativity and passion.
Cely loved all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her dog Micah and especially God.
Cely is survived by Marvin York, her daughter Jeannette Crow, her son Michael Bickel, stepdaughters Ranae Delarm and Darla Cravens, her siblings Enriquita, Vergilio, Lucrisia, Jimmy, and Maria, as well as her grandchildren Donovan Chilson, Erin Potocek, Gavin Crow, Devin Crow, and Zaiyic Bickel and great grandchildren Ophelia Potocek, Giana Crow and Celia Potocek. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love and memories she created during her time with us.
A Celebration of Life for Cely will be held at Einan’s Events at Sunset in Richland, WA on June 20th, 2024 at 11am.
